Main subject (and problem) of actuarial is the risk – its identification, weighing, costing and forecasting. Since various risks accompany everyday life (and experience shows that most of them usually leads to financial losses) one could say that the perimeter of actuarial is actually quite broad and difficult foreseeable. The benefit of actuarial assumptions, analyzes and forecasts recently highlighted in much more general terms, even when not talking about financial losses, but also in areas far from the finance and insurance – in the design and construction of complex and large-scale construction equipment, including projects for space studies; study of criminogenic situation and functioning of justice; climate change and the risks to the ecological balance; the spread of famine, epidemics, natural disasters; drugs and transnational crime, incl. fraud, money laundering etc. In such situations are increasingly paying attention to the acute need for actuarial perspective on the situation.
Risk diagnostics and assessment of corporate clients in general insurance

The idea and purpose of the monograph of Prof. Radoslav Gabrovski is to draw the attention of specialists from the insurance practice on some theoretical, as well as relatively easy to implement practical approaches to rational and efficient insurance risk management in the insurance company. The aim of the author is to be developed and presented specialized insurance structured approach in the implementation of risk diagnostics and assessment of corporate clientele in general insurance. The “Solvency II” system in the insurance business
The implementation of the “Solvency II” is a serious problem for all insurance companies in the EU. This work revealed the weaknesses of the existing control system for determinination of the solvency of insurance companies and arguing the need to introduce a new system for determining solvency. It argues that the application of the “Solvency II” will increase the financial stability of insurers and to the globalization of the insurance market.
Development of funded pension funds
The role of funded pension funds grew in the picture of the overall pension protection of the population. The global financial crisis highlighted the problems of investing the assets of the funds, risk management, administrative expenses and informing the insured. The thesis of the author is that the funded pension funds can become one of the main sources of retirement income if you know their character and create adequate environment for their development. But the creation of such an environment is the responsibility of both private shareholders and the regulatory and supervisory authorities.
